Video games entail a sense of imagination and immersion seems to come into play alongside the concept as well. You want to make sure that you're in control of a scene, as if you're actually there. Virtual reality is the kind of idea that I will always support and I feel like the Oculus Rift has shown this in ways that I never would have imagined. It boasts potential, to say the least, and it's a concept that I can see being helped by the use of online marketing.
The Oculus Rift may come across as an uncommon name, leaving many scratching their heads. For those who may be in the dark, this is basically a head-mounted display that allows you to play games from a first-person perspective. Basically, it is the modern-age attempt at emulating a world utilizing VR capabilities. I think that the system itself is intriguing enough but I think that it would be wrong not to mention the list of games that will come along with this hardware that boasts such potential.
There are many games to consider but the one that stood out for me, in terms of hardware integration, has got to be "Minecraft." It's the name that most people within PC gaming are familiar with and I can only imagine how well this would work along with the Rift. Being able to feel as though you're actually in this blocky environment is something that will have gamers itching to build upon. It's clear that the Rift has a certain appeal and I hope that it's realized.
I am curious as I imagine what kind of online marketing would play in order to make the Rift appealing to the public. I think that if you're looking to purchase this in any store that markets electronics, you would have a difficult time swallowing the potentially bitter pill that is considered the price. Keep in mind that this is the kind of tech that isn't readily available on the market. However, the idea of potential is what the Rift holds best, which is what firms like fishbat may attest to.
From a gaming perspective, I don't know if the Rift is going to be the next cutting edge piece of technology that will break the mold. If anything, it will be an interesting addition to the gaming experience that we know it as today, which isn't a terrible thing. In fact, I can imagine that many individuals will be lining up, waiting to see what everyone is talking about. I guess we'll have to see what the Rift can do in execution, online marketing at hand or not.
