Answer To The Question Will The Antichrist Be A Muslim?

The signal given for the judgment days in the bible and the Koran is the rise of a king or ruler. The two holy books offer this coincidence in a way that leaves Christians confused. Reading the two books simultaneously has complicated matters to the point of asking the question, will the antichrist be a Muslim? There is no official stand on this subject. These are considered personal views.

Islam carries a story of a twelfth imam who disappeared at a young age and is expected to return before judgment falls on humanity. The story indicates that Muslims were being persecuted at the time. This led the imam to flee to the desert. He is expected to return in order to fulfill his mission of birth. This return before judgment coincides with rise of the beast. The similarity in the two occurrences leads people to make the conclusion.

The bible points out that an antichrist shall rule before judgment falls on humanity. The scripture that gives this indication is Revelation chapter thirteen and verse four. The ruler is to be known by his promise of peace to Israel for a period of seven years. This is a promise that will be broken and replaced by anarchical rule as an indicator of the reigning beast.

Among the signs that people should watch out for towards judgment day include the breaking of a promise to deliver peace to Israel. The ruler takes the title of the beast by dictating his wishes over the people and demanding to be recognized as god. Intrigues and trickery shall be used to identify him. It is the coincidences of a returning Imam and the rising ruler that drive many people into that conclusion.

Daniel presents a different version that seems to excuse Muslims. His mention of Roman Empire makes it almost impossible for Muslims to appear in the picture. This relates to the location of this empire and the population that is dominant. These two aspects make it almost impossible to find an Islamic beast.

The Roman Empire is located at a place that shifts focus away from Muslims. It was established in Europe, a geographical region that is not dominated by Muslims. The place that would readily accept a Muslim as a ruler would be the Middle East. It seems impossible to have a truce between Israel and Muslims as is indicated in the bible. The seven years promised by the ruler would therefore be impossible to imagine.

A double reading of scripture is what leads to the conclusion of an Islamic antichrist. Such a ruler must be acceptable to both Jews and Muslims. This means that the only possibility would be a half cast. He would command recognition from Jews as one of their own and Muslims as their lost imam. This is the only way such a person would rule.

The conclusion on the possibility of a Muslim antichrist arises out of double reading of the scripture. Christians are required to be vigilant when accepting any ruler. This ensures that they do not fall to the intrigues and deceit that will characterize the beast. Any leader must be required to proclaim Christ Jesus as Lord.
