A good way for you to extend some assistance would be through charity clothing. Instead of just discarding clothes off. You can get them donated instead.

Washing them again gives them a better chance to be recycled and worn again.

Make sure to donate some essentials a swell. For instance, throw in some bath towels, sheets, blankets and other essential items and not just clothes alone. They can be very handy especially for those shelters that take in animals. Towel and even those beddings that are considered to be threadbare can be every useful in these kinds of facilities.
