Speculation Regarding A Muslim Antichrist

The end times predicted in the book of Revelation have always caused much speculation. It speaks about an evil man who will rise to a position of control over the whole world. The Bible does not state who this man is or where he comes from and this is why so many theories abound. Some feel that there will be a Muslim antichrist and others think that he will be a Jew. The Bible simply says that we will know him because he will proclaim that he is God.

Various individuals have been targeted as fulfilling these prophecies over the years. One can understand why one of these was Adolf Hitler. The Pope and various presidents have also been considered and people continue to speculate about this today.

They feel that the Bible is being interpreted from a Eurocentric viewpoint and because of this many prophecies are being ignored that speak directly about the Islamic nations. There are many literal references to Islamic nations. The Messiah wages war against these nations on the Day of the Lord.

One of the arguments used to support an Islamic system as the beast is their denial of the Trinity. They do not regard Jesus as the son of God. Another argument is that they have a form of submission to God but they are not really submitting to Him and they will be destroyed on His return. Interestingly enough, the Muslims also say that there is to be a battle and the Israelites will be defeated.

The Koran talks about the beast of the earth and that all Muslims will be marked on the forehead. In Revelation it says that no-one will be able to buy or sell unless they wear the mark of the beast. Some people take this literally and think that people will have some sort of physical mark or a computer chip. Others take this in an allegorical sense as referring to a declaration of faith.

The name antichrist is not used in the Bible when it comes to end time prophecies. Many other titles are used for this individual. However, there is no confusion about what he does. He fights against all who stand against him and exalts himself. His complete control brings peace of a kind. However, this peace ends when God brings about the destruction of his rule.

With the events that have occurred in the world today, many Muslims want to disassociate themselves from the fundamentalists. They protest that Islam is actually a religion of peace. However, there are those who say that this is not true, it is simply a facade and that the true intention is to establish world domination. Others say that focusing on the Islamic nations may actually lead to the rise of a European antichrist as a savior from Islam.

This issue gives rise to endless speculation and many different theories. All of these theories are possible to back up with some world events happening today so it is impossible to say that one or the other is true. What we can be sure of is that such speculation will only increase.
